Can I post your '*' art on my site?
Yep ^^ no prob here! You can take anything you like, the only thing I ask is that you please please give me credit somewhere either by showing my E-mail or Link to the site, heck it doesn't even have to be on the same page as the drawings it can be on a separate links page or something but just please don't claim them as your own ^^* k?
If you want you can tell me when you are taking something, I like to get to know the people who like my art, so don't be shy! ^^ I find that a lot of people who like my art are awesome/developing artists themselves and I would LOVE to see your art/site, and heck, I could even link to ya, no harm in that ne? ~_^
Do you take art requests/commissions?
Not anymore, my reasons are that I no longer have time for CG's, I barely crank any out for myself. Life and work gets in the way of time for art ;_;. I do enjoy hearing people's ideas though..inspiration is always a good thing; so if something interests you, drop me a note, I might like the idea and not be able to get it out of my head. As far as commissions go, I wont be taking them right at this moment for the same reasons..even if I have the potential for money, I can't work with deadlines since my schedules are unpredicatble, therefore it wont be fair to you if you end up waiting a lifetime for something I estimated a time frame for. If you are a personal friend of mine..I'll see what I can do for you buddy ^_~
Do you Sell fanart prints?
This is a very very tough question. For the most part I DO NOT believe that it is right nor ethical to sell work based on someone else's creation (think of it this way..if you created an animated series or books..how would you like some nobody making money off of your characters just because people like their drawing style? Not nice.) However, fanart is often times a representation of one's own ideas merely using someone else's character as a basis..there are so many styles that often times the subject is completely transformed into something original. I think in the basis of parody, with the subject taken completely out of canon, it would be ok as it becomes a satire then. Luckily most of the fanarts on this site do not suit printing requirements in size or dpi anyway. If you really really need to see one of my fanarts turned into a print, please contact me and we will discuss the likelyhood of that happening depending on how old it is and whether I should reproduce it or not and how much it will approximately cost you.
Can I request a print?
If you see something on here that you would like as a print/poster let me know and I will see what I can do. For now I wont be taking requests for your own original works..in other words "Can you draw my character from my story, I'll buy your print." because that's like a commission and I don't take commisions for the time being. The most readily available prints will be on the site and for the most part they will be original works.
I like '*' pic, can I modify it?
Sure, if you feel a pic is too big to post on your site or something you can go ahead and resize it, if you want to crop it to use just a portion of the pic go ahead with that too, or if you want to add text, change color or edit it in some other way, you are welcome to. Since I know editing a picture can be hard work you are also welcome to give yourself credit for the edits BUT please give me credit somewhere for the original copy of the pic you modified k?
Why did you draw '*' pic and then turn around and draw '*'?
Keep in mind not all the pics featured here are of my own accord. Many are requested, old ideas, suggestions etc.. so not all of them share my view point. For example Taito is my fave pairing for Yamato but you will also see a Mimato and a Taiora pic, so yes many times I contradict myself artwork-wise. Of course in rare couplings (like Dilandau and Van) they are all my evil lil muses. I do however enjoy all my pieces ^^
Are ALL these pictures yours??
Yes, they are all mine, for now, if there is anything made by someone else I would indicate it as so, all my pics have the lil "resuko" signature on them anyhow, the only things on this site that are not mine are peoples banners and badges or awards/gifts given to me, but that should be a given anyhow ^^*
Hey I recognize '*' pic from somewhere!!
Congrats! I'm sure you are reffering to similar poses right? For example a GW pic I have that looks like a remix of a Kenshin pic, or the digimon girls that looks like a certain sailormoon pic. And you are absolutely right. On many occasions I borrow poses from official art. In most cases it's to practice some new technique (usually coloring or drawing style) so I don't bother with coming up with a pose, but the majority of my pics are original and I have even let people make their pics with my own poses. I find it no different than taking a photograph from a magazine and recreating the picture ^^ only I do it with anime, and it takes as much effort since I don't cheat with tracing. And peeps appreciate seeing their fave characters in alternate poses and vice-versa, I think it's fun. On the whole my stuff is original..but if you recognize a pose from somewhere don't be surprised.
Can I submit Fan Art?
Thanks for the thought but at this time, since my server is expensive and I run so many sites that take up bandwidth, adding additional art is not the best idea. However if you are a friend of mine or just a passer-by and you want to give me a gift/award I would be so grateful! I love gifts, so show me what you got and I will love you forever ^_____^
Can I submit a FanFic?
Sorry guyz, but this is a strictly Fan Art site, if you are looking for fics or places to submit fics please take a look at the links section, a lot of the sites there also have FanFic sections and many of them take submissions ^_~
What is Yaoi/Yuri?
"Yaoi" is a MalexMale romantic pairing, "Yuri" is a FemalexFemale romantic pairing. They can range from very graphic to very subtle. The pics on this site are more "shounen/shoujo-ai" which literally means "Boy/Girl love", which in my opinion is the milder softer form of Yaoi/Yuri.
What Programs do you use?
I used PaintShopPro 7.0 for my older CG's, but currently all new pics are in Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and very rarely Painter 7.0. A few raku's are done in Open Canvas. Animation Shop 3.0 is used for my Animated Gifs. To draw I use .7mm or .5mm mechanical pencil, and no I do not Ink my drawings, it's all pencil. In the past I colored the pics with my mouse, but now I strictly use my tablet. Last of course, a scanner for my pics ^^* at 300dpi and just my mouse for makin gifs. The newest fully functioning trial version of PSP can be downloaded here.
Can you teach me how to CG?
Hmm..this is a tough one. I'm not very good at giving tutorials on CGing ^^* because a lot of what I say makes sense to me only. I have my own way of describing tools and their functions..I hardly use their official names and stuff. However my CGing style is no secret..so don't be afraid to ask me for pointers and stuff. I love talking about techniques and short cuts. I am always learning new things though, so I am far from knowing everything there is to know about CGs and I am always grateful to recieve tips from those greatly superior to myself. However if I do lend advice, it will usually be according to Photoshop 7+ layouts and names for tools, because it is the only program I am strongly familiar with besides PSP 7+..so if you are looking for painter/open canvas help I might not be useful to you although I am slightly familiar with them. What I can do is point you in the direction of some really nice online tutorials that have helped me in the past aswell. Just ask if you are interested ^^. Two things I can tell you straight off the bat is, learn to use and love layers and transparency protect. Also, learn as much human anatomy as you can (Something I still struggle with) cause it will make your pics believable and stand out if you can make realistic poses in correct proportions.
Can I Affiliate/Link with you?
This site is Link Free so just go ahead and link if you like ^^ the banners are in the "link me?" section, or you can text link it's no prob. If you have a fanart site or a reg anime site that features a hefty amount of fan art somewhere, go ahead and let me know! I would luv to take a look and we can Link/Affiliate ~_^
How did you learn to draw? Do you take Classes?
Nope no classes, I been drawing since I was 6-7 ^^* (Only started drawing real anime style stuff when I was 15/16 which is also the same time I did a CG on MSPaint) so it's just lots of practice and getting comfortable with your art program. It's all trial and error basically. I took a CG class at my college once..but they only taught me Corel paint (which isn't the best program around unless you want only kewl effects) and to tell you the truth, the class was booooooorrrriiinnnnggg, I quit..the best way to learn is on your own or reference tutorials ^_~
Can you e-mail me more pics?
Surprisingly I get this question a lot. But there is a really simple answer. Everything you see here is everything I have. At least current-wise. If I make or aquire anything new it will be added to the site (and this goes for all sites of mine really). So I can't really e-mail anything out that doesn't exist yet ^^;; no sneek peeks or wip peeps.
I e-mailed you and you haven't written back!
I'm truly sorry about that. There are usually very common reasons for this.
#1. Don't have Access. There are times when I am physically away from my computer for days. Like when I was in bootcamp I could not check my mail for a few months while I was training. So it all depends on whether a computer with internet access is available. Or if I come home tired from work, I wont get online.
#2. FAQ. I mention in the front of my page that you please read the FAQ before sending me a question. If you ask me something that has already been answered here then it is very likely that I wont respond to your mail. It's not to be mean or anything, sometimes I do take the time to explain stuff..especially if the person seems very nice but I really shouldn't have to do that @_@. Keep in mind I have tons of mail to answer..currently I have over 120 sitting in my inbox and the number always goes up or down..so e-mails with no true purpose are overlooked very often.
#3. Work. Sad but true, the real world sticks it's weighing pressure on my comp time limiting what I am able to. I might take days on a project and during that entire time, I might not step foot online and therefore miss mail.
#4. E-mail doesn't ask some sort of question. There are many times where people write me to say "Wow I like your site!" or something of this nature. It is very sweet and I treasure the people who take the time to write these things *I read them all!* ^^ but it doesn't always leave a lot of room for reply. Don't worry, chances are I read your mail and wrote you some sort of "thank you" ^^ but on rare occasions the message was so breif that I have just let it go unanswered. I'm sorry about this..but do know I appreciate every kind word sent to me. Also I regard e-mailing as more of a way to get questions answered..if you really have things to say about my work or my site, why not sign the guestbook instead? You can find it HERE. It would be a lot easier for me to find it there. Once again..arigato minna in advance. ^^
#5. Old computer. Believe it or not the computer I own is very very old, I am talking almost 10 years old. Still running win98 AND it's so lagging in performance that I constantly save my pics when I am making them because at any minute the damn thing will freeze and lose my work. So yes if my comp is acting up I will shut it off and leave it alone for a while, this of course, infringes on my online time. if I get kciked off I usually sign back on but if it happens too often (I'm on dial-up) I just quit for the day before I pick up the comp and throw it across the room in frustration haha!
Is it just me or do you keep on moving hosts?!
Well..yes. The problem is I started out with geocities way in the beginning but I quickly grew out of the space alloted. Moved on to crosswinds and that place was so unstable and full of ads that a friend told me he was sadly annoyed with visiting my site. Luckily he introduced me to someone who was more than happy to host me at Satinflame.net. My sites lived there for a few years, but like all good things it did not last forever. My hostess moved on to better things (I feel bad cause I must have killed her bandwidth). I was in the military so my sites were dead for a long time untill last year when I got a domain of my own. And here I am at Blue-Cicada.net. Below are some URLs that this site was known as in a previous life:
http://www.geocities.com/resurie_kojiro
http://crosswinds.net/~resuko/main/index1.html
http://www.satinflame.net/resuko/vision/index.html
This site has also been renamed a few times from Resurie Kojiro's Page (Had an obsession with Kojiro of Team Rocket), to The Vision of Resuko (combined Resurie and Kojiro, also from an unhealthy addiction to Escaflowne), and finally Trivial Habit (from the realization that my art was just a hobby that would never lead to anything).
